Pay my window cleaner

pay my window cleaner

Paying for window cleaning is easiest to Set up customer card payments and direct debits for your window cleaning business

Older customers might prefer handing over cash. Card payments are becoming more popular and also direct debit payments from your residential customers.

If you’re a registered business, then it’ll be easy for you to set up direct debits with your customers to your business bank account. Assure them that it’s safe, and protected, and agree on a regular amount each month.
This makes it much easier for the customer and reduces the time you need to stay on the property.

BE COVID SAFE
Especially in the time of Covid, handing over cash has become less popular, use electronic methods to help customers pay their bills.
Think about the time you will save collecting cash and the extra time spent with your family.

Cash flow is improved, as you don’t have to rely on depositing notes or coins into your bank. This can often a fee charged to business bank accounts.

Another method is using the bank-to-bank payment method GoCardless, which is hugely beneficial for small businesses. You can set up your customer online to pay via Direct Debit. You can set up your own customisable page on your website for them to set up payment.

It’s easy, straightforward, and gives you – and your customer – peace of mind.

There are also mobile card machines that are available for small businesses to use. This means that customers can pay using their contactless debit card at their doorstep, rather than handing over cash.

Brands such as Zettle, SumUp, and Square offer mobile card readers for firms that want to make the switch from cash to card, and prices start at £16.

Other window cleaning firms are using these payment methods, and have reported a drastic improvement in collection times, and makes the process much more efficient.

It also helps you to keep an eye on cashflow and customers are also in charge of how they pay, giving them greater control.
Customers can forget scrabbling around for cash when they spot the window cleaner pulling up outside.

It also means that it’s easier for customers to pause payments if they’re on holiday. You can simply clean the windows and the payment will go out automatically, without having to chase the customer.

It’ll also give more flexibility for any commercial customers you might have, and you’ll look more professional if you can offer a more modern way to pay.

The only downside is that some of the mobile card readers charge a transaction fee (up to 1.75%), but in the grand scheme of things, it’s a small change in relation to what you’d be saving overall.
