Facebook Review of OVA8

So I wanted to give an honest review of the Streamline OVA8 (35ft) pole as there has been a lot of people having a toss-up between a new Gardiner or trying the OVA8. So here is my experience and opinion so far.
First up is their customer service. I phoned to make an order and straight away, I was made to feel like I mattered. I was put through to the sales department that got everything I needed, including a fitted univalve. They took payment and I was told it would likely be delivered the next day.
Next is delivery. True to their word, I received my new pole between 9-10 am which was great as I could get to using it straight away. All I needed to do, was put my preferred brush on with the swivel and the connector and I was away.
First impressions. I didn’t hesitate to get started on cleaning my own windows (yes the wife was surprised but obviously happy to have clean windows again). It was very different to using a Gardiner as you would probably slide the sections out and they would glide quite smoothly as there is little resistance due to the sections being circular. So when using the OVA8, you do need to extend with more motion getting it to full extension per section because there is a bit more resistance due to them being a different shape. I don’t mind this because of the anti spin design and therefore wearing the pole down much less.
Daily use after 1 week. I love the pole. Extending the Gardiner SLX35 for a standard 2 story house, I would probably go to 2 1/2 sections for the optimum height, whereas the OVA8 – being slightly longer sections – I only need to extend it to 2 sections, sometimes 2 and a bit.
The clamps are great, they feel as natural to open and close as the Gardiner poles, but no spin, so you’re only concerned about the sections slipping which can be easily adjusted by turning the clamps a couple of clicks.
The accessories – first off I will admit, I have not used the brush so I cannot comment on that, apart from what looks like a good build quality with 4 jet holes.
The hose is not the best, but then again, which standard hose is? I have used it for the past week and it seems to be prone to kinking more often than the green Gardiner hose would so I would probably change back to that soon enough, but it’s not terrible.
Let’s be honest though, if you have been WFP long enough, you would have found your perfect setup by using different parts from different places so I guess all of our poles are pretty modular.
All in all, I would definitely recommend the OVA8 pole to anybody wanting/needing a new pole. The price was reasonable. I paid around £650 which included the pole, hose, brush, univalve, swivel gooseneck, and various jets and connectors.
I switched ‘ova’ due to having my last Gardiner for just 1 year and the 3rd section snapped, whereas my previous SLX lasted fine and is still being used by the lad that works with me occasionally.
Just to mention, this post is not sponsored, so everything I’m saying is my own personal opinion but I thought it would be helpful to you guys considering getting a new pole.
I hope you all have a good weekend. Peace out ✌️
